京都・東山にオープンした自然派ラグジュアリーホテル「シックスセンシズ 京都」に作品を2点納めさせていただきました。三十六歌仙の絵と書の作品は客室に、小野小町の和歌を題材にした作品はエントランスにあります。
ホテル内には、平安時代の“雅”をデザインの軸に、「源氏物語」の世界観や京都・高山寺に伝わる国宝絵巻「鳥獣戯画」に描かれたうさぎなどの動物たち、また日本の民話や昔話モチーフのアートがアクセントとして散りばめられています。
Two of my works have been installed at Six Senses Kyoto, a new natural luxury hotel opened in Higashiyama, Kyoto. The painting and calligraphy of the “Thirty-six Immortal Poets” are in the guestrooms, and the artwork based on Ono no Komachi’s waka poems is at the entrance.
The design of the hotel is based on the “elegance” of the Heian period, and is accented with artwork based on the world of “The Tale of Genji”, animals such as rabbits depicted in the national treasure “Choju Caricature” from the Kosanji Temple in Kyoto, and Japanese folk tales and folktale motifs. The artwork is accented with Japanese folklore and folktale motifs.
